4 Podcasts to Improve Your Life

Here are 4 podcasts that have made my life better, without question. Some are sobriety themed, others are not. I hope you find them useful as well!

#1 The Skinny Confidential Him & Her

I’ve been listening to the TSC Him & Her Show since the very early days. (“I don’t mean to brag” as Lauryn would say!) It’s always been fantastic, and has only gotten better with time. 200+ million downloads don’t lie!

You never know what you’re going to get with this podcast, with topics ranging from wellness, health, beauty, business, success, mindset, relationships and a whole lot more — with an impressive roster of A list guests, that includes celebrities, influencers, thought leaders, and the like. The hosts also do solo episodes from time to time.

The ultimate power couple, Lauryn Evarts and Michael Bosstick, release 2 episodes each week. Their witty banter and playful teasing is adorable and hilarious. I feel like I’m hanging out with friends every time I listen.

I have discovered so many of my favorite authors, entrepreneurs and influencers by listening to this podcast, including Lauryn and Michael themselves, as well as Ramit Sethi, Andrew Huberman, Gala Darling, Dr. Amen, Chervin of Cymbiotika, and more. Some of my favorite more recent episodes have featured Gwen Stefani, Bill Maher, Whitney Cummings, and Chris Appleton.

#2 Take A Break from Drinking with Rachel Hart

I discovered Rachel Hart’s Take a Break podcast a few years ago, when I was in the early stages of my sober-curious journey.

I highly recommend this one to anyone who is interested in changing their relationship with alcohol, regardless of whether your goal is to cut back or quit drinking all together. At its core, the podcast is really about learning how to have a better relationship with yourself.

Rachel shares her extensive knowledge of the human brain and how it functions, making it easy for her listeners to understand why so many people reach for a glass of wine — or a vape, bag of chips, Netflix or their phone — as a quick and easy way to change how they feel, instead of addressing the feeling that’s making them want to zone out in the first place.

The Take a Break Podcast has empowered me to reconnect with my physical body, taught me skills to choose better thoughts, and ultimately take charge of my emotions and habits, rather than letting them have power over me.

Whether or not you want to drink less alcohol, Rachel’s self-care techniques are 🔥. I also find her voice soothing and therapeutic to listen to.

#3 Euphoric The Podcast

Karolina Rzadkowolska is an alcohol-free thought leader, coach, author, and podcaster… and she also happens to be the teacher of my amazing coaching program, and therefore my mentor. I feel so honored and lucky to know her professionally, because her work has truly been a guiding light in my own journey to sobriety. She’s also just a really inspiring and warm person whose energy is infectious.

Karolina’s best selling book, Euphoric: Ditch Alcohol was the final piece to the puzzle for me in making the decision to stop trying to moderate and instead release drinking from my life for good. It’s the best “quit lit” book, and I’ve read them all!

Euphoric the book led me to Euphoric The Podcast, which is now a regular in my rotation. It’s a powerful show about the limitless possibilities of an alcohol-free lifestyle. In her words, “it’s made for the intuitive woman who knows she is made for more than hangovers.”

#4 Goal Digger with Jenna Kutcher

Oh Jenna, what an invaluable resource and inspiration you’ve been for my entrepreneurial journey over the past 10 years! I discovered Goal Digger since 2017, and I remember the episode that got me hooked: ‘Episode 155: How I Doubled My Instagram Growth in One Month.’ (I’m not going to tell you the secret, because I want you to listen to it!)

I suggest the Goal Digger to anyone starting or running a business, because I learned 80%+ of everything I know about digital marketing and social media strategy from this podcast.

Truly a marketing genius (and self-made millionaire), Jenna is a vast well of knowledge when it comes to selling anything and everything, without being sleezy or salesy. She seems to have an innate understanding of marketing and social media on a psychological level, based on how people are wired and how they want to feel. She educates on both high level strategies, as well as small actionable steps and takeaways you can implement right away.

Rooting for you always,

Gretchen
